BS3D : ILDA EDITOR SOFTWARE

The Beam Sculptor 3D ILDA File Editor provides an easy way to design ILDA artwork and create animations. The software comes complete with a USB Security Dongle/Key for installation on multiple pc/laptops.

The software can be used to design and create a huge array of custom images and aerial effects, such as logo's, text, animation's, complex 3D tunnel effects and true 3D effects and be saved as .ILD files for easy playback.

The most prominent feature of the software is the actual area upon which images are designed and edited, which is referred to as the Drawing Area.
Using the mouse pointer and the drawing tools, images are created by drawing on the screen as with a conventional CAD package; artwork tracing of either Bitmaps or Jpegs is possible and made easy with the zoom function, along with the ability to insert, move and delete points as and when needed.

You are able to draw and then preview your artwork and animations as a standard playback or via a 3D view which enables you to see the show with beam lines, replicating a live view.

When designing your artwork you have two viewing options, either:

Frame Select - which contains all the frames that are held within the scene or file, a handy display when it comes to copying or moving a frame to another position within the scene or to a new scene, or
Editor View - which is where any frame can be viewed from front, top, side or 3D perspective. If you have a true 3D object frame open you are able to pan around the object by holding the mouse cursor down whilst over the image.

The program supplies powerful auto-animation tools; which enable 3D rotations, spins, translations, zooming and morphing. All are very easy and straightforward to use; tools to enable these functions are found under the Animate Menu.

The animation menu includes:

  • Auto-Animate Selected Frame - enables you to turn a single frame image into a rotating/spinning, moving & size changing effect.
Add X, Y & Z rotational effects to your image or text to create amazing 3D projections, on either a single frame or to a whole scene. Just Set the start position then alter the size, position and rotational dimensions to the frame or scene to Set the end position. The software will auto-animate the number of frames requested to produce an animated effect, preview these effects before entering them into your current scene.
Examples of possible effects include: pulsing tunnels, tumbling text and multi rotating images which give the illusion that you have several projectors within one!
  • Auto Animate whole sequence of frames - enables you to animate and turn a whole show into a rotating/spinning, moving & size changing effect.
  • Merge two shows - this allows you to merge two completely different shows together to create an effect which looks like you have multiple lasers.
  • Morph Tool - bend two completely different images over a defined time period.
Simply select your Start and End Frame, enter the total amount of frames that you would want the morphing to span over and click generate. Preview the morphing effect on the morph sequence screen, and if your not happy click reset and go again. Once you are satisfied with the result click OK and the morph sequence frames will be added to the current scene that is being worked on.
  • Animate 3D Object - this function allows you to animate a 3D object / frame that you may have saved as a file.

Another great feature of the BS3D ILDA Editor is the ability to be able to trace either a Bitmap or Jpeg file. This is useful for converting scanned artwork such as logos and other graphics. The image you select is placed on the background of the Drawing Area at the position and size you specify. It is then possible to use the Drawing Area like tracing paper to trace over the parts of the image you want to appear as a laser graphic.
