DIODE PUMP SOLID STATE (DPSS) LASERS - The compact, extremely reliable
and affordable option.
| The
MAIN advantages of DPSS Lasers: |
| Good "pencil" beam quality |
No
extra cooling required |
| Low
power consumption |
No
extra mechanical blanking required |
| Low
weight & easy handling |
Optional
modulation input for fading purposes |
| Very
bright green, red & blue laser beam |
All
driver electronics included |
The
brightness of a green diode laser compared to other laser sources is much
higher, since the 532nm wavelength is very close to the maximum sensitivity
of the human eye; compared to an argon laser,
a diode laser is more than 3 times brighter for the same given
power. Please visit our Diode v Argon
page for a full explaination.
| What power
output is needed? |
| To answer this
question you first must determine other factors, as the requirements
depend greatly upon other conditions: |
- Other ambient
lighting
- The use
of fog or haze
- Size of
the venue or area of laser projection
|
| If
you opt for a more powerful laser, the optional modulational input
on the power supply can be used to dim or turn down the brightness
of the laser; therefore you have a laser that is suited to more venues. |
| Remember,
power is not everything - the quality of the beam plays a big part
is how bright the laser appears. The smaller the beam divergence the
brighter the laser! |
